Seagirt Council Meeting – 8 July, 2008
Present: Jacques, Eideard, Anastasia, Morgaine, Hucbald, James, Reann, Ysane,
Anna Jane, Baroness Elina, Baron Ming, Seth, Mathieu, Lenora, Inge, Sirt, Sarah, Serena
Meeting called to order by Seneschal.
Exchequer:
- Mistake in 2008 budget – Sealion not removed. New budget drafted & balanced.
- Suggested an amendment re: charges for N.S.F. cheques. Decided on $5.00.
- Received $291.27 from Insula Magna event.
Master of Stables:
- Less fighters at practice, average of 2.
- Proposes to bring Knights from mainland for practice, pay their walk-on cost.
Will begin pass-the-hat at practice.
Master of Blades:
- Sirt has stepped down.
- Mathieu has stepped up.
- Planning to bring in some Dons in Sept or Oct for Seagirt.
Herald:
- Aline re-submitted her device registration.
- Re-submitting Otter award and Populace badge.
Arts & Sciences:
- Held at Hucbald & Morgaine’s house, as usual.
- Planning a ‘Gate’ workshop for a future A&S night.
Castellan:
- Demo at Lochside School went very well.
- Previous demo – sent us a $40 gift certificate to Tanner’s Bookstore. Will give
to Exchequer.
- Jacques will bring $150 from Lochside demo to next Council meeting.
Dance:
- Goes as usual. Good attendance.
Baron & Baroness:
- Monthly Tourney same weekend as Coronation. Hope many fighters turn out
anyway. Tourney is July 20th, at 1pm.
- SYG coming up – hoping for lots of support for Rashid.
- Need handmade items from Seagirtians for largesse.
Seneschal:
- Second quarter reports due soon.
- Seth needs regalia for Insula Magna Champion. A&S has lots of fabric for
his use. Any other monies to come out of Insula Magna cheque.
- Crickstow’s family fun event on July 19th. Contact Theocharista if going.
Lenora:
- Thank you Sirt. Welcome Mathieu.
- Suggests putting Seagirt device on pavilion, like Lionsgate. A&S will plan this.
Baroness:
- We promised part of profits from last year’s events (10%). No cheque was given
at Coronet. Still need to pay this ($250) to “General Funds”.
- Also need to pay $100 donation to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as was
approved at last Council.
James:
- He and Glynis bought the Harp, Hammer, and Seagull pewter molds, and ask if
Council would like to buy them. Council to pay $100 to James.
