From: Baron & Baroness Seagirt [bnbseagirt@shaw.ca] Sent: January 30, 2005 2:38 PM To: 'The Rocks' Subject: [rocks] DUMA Highlights Households Represented House Byob House Felix Dormans (by electronic proxy) Gingerbread House House of the Golden Oar Item 1 - The House of the Golden Oar challenged the other households of the Barony to participate in a gesture of largesse when possible. Suggestions for possible household projects were bandied about. The Daffodil feast tokens were cited as an example. Item 2 - A Household directory will be created on the Seagirt Web page that households may have a link to their own pages from. Households may remove themselves from this directory of they so choose. Item 3 - The directory is part of a plan to create a household autocrat resource for upcoming events. Item 4 - Autocrat's are encouraged to post to-do lists so that households and their personnel may volunteer to complete tasks for them. (This would also allow un-affiliated people to do the same) Item 5 - A growing lack of courtesy, chivalry and etiquette is being noticed at all levels. Households are charged to educate their personnel in the proper procedures. His Excellency James challenged all to commence a "minimum first greeting" project. As a place to start improving our manners and dialogue, gentles will strive to be completely formal on the first time they greet someone at an event. It is hoped that this will create a fall-out effect for other encounters which will boot-strap the whole process to a new level. Item 6 - The "Nebwie" drop-off program is in effect for Daffodil. At 9 am Saturday morning drop off your new friends and then go help set up the event. Your newbies will be educated in basic behaviour, mannerisms and jargon. For one hour they can ask questions and learn the proper ways to behave at an event. "Oldbies" are welcome for a refresher. Item 7 - A desire is there to host more smaller events that allow new event staff a "training" venue. Households are encouraged to take the lead to train their new people in running events. Item 8 - Households are to canvas their members for people bringing newbies to events. In these cases they are to provide basic education indoctrination and to outfit these people to allow them a more seamless transition from the modern world. Item 9 - More photos are desired for the Seagirt web. Households are encouraged to submit theirs for displa. Item 10 - A desire to create a "populace" page for the Barony exists. It was decided to simply enhance the OP/Award's list with photos (if the individual desires) and additonal info as found in the farspeaker list. Contact info will not be included but email and web pages links may be at the request of the individual. Gentles are encouraged to send updates for their info to the web team. The next DUMA meeting will be scheduled for May. It is hoped that a quarterly meeting would yield good results. -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus.
