Reports
Seneschal:
Nothing going on Seneschal-like. Admin retreat coming up (Nov 5th weekend).
Calendar:
Sep – Hartwood Birthday Bash (Ravensley Castle site);

Chancellor of the Exchequer:
Balance: Cdn $3,711.95; US $469.92
2 $1,000 GICs; GIC purchased a year ago matures next month; renew it next
month plus buy another $1,000 GIC.
Stores:
Stores officer wants cooks guild to look at their stuff before Daffodil,
maybe even before Yule. Stores is doing good otherwise.
Master of Stables:
Feast or Famine went well; 11 heavies from Druim na Doinan; we have two
military personnel with access to drill shed keys (Scathach & Uilliam).
Looking to start a Thursday night practice as Wed practice at Dallas &
Government will be losing light to fight by. Sunday practice still on
from 1200 to circa 1600.
Master of Blades:
Practices are going well; some Hartwoodians coming down on a regular basis.
SST & Feast or Famine went well; we proved that if you hold a war
and no one comes, you win.
Chronicler:
Glaucous ceased publication effective August issue. All subscribers notified.
Herald:
A couple of devices in submission; three or four other gentles working
on names. Will be at A&S Thursdays for name/device consult.
A&S:
Received reports from people who are supposed to report. Also got box
of A&S stuff; no idea what’s in it. Tunic-making workshop hosted
by Baroness went very well. New A&S champion selected at SST –
Algytha Ravencross. Room available & booked at UVic from 9th of Sept
to end of Nov except for Remembrance day. Time is from 1830 to 2200 (Ekaterina
is POC). Will be publishing a list of dates and classes. Budget of $200.00
approved for fabric for new Gold Key.
Chatelaine & Dance:
Dance: average of 30; last class dance was outside. Dance raised $120.01
Chatelaine: North Saanich Middle School wants a demo; will give us a date & time; will give us an honourarium. No further word back on Hatley Castle demo.
Minister of Children:
Boffer tournament at SST; Alex is new boffer champion. Nothing much else
to report.
College of St. Giles:
Plans are extremely vague. Students returning. UVic Medieval Club will
have AGM soon. Wants to hold an Anti-T-Tunic Workshop. Plans for a coif-making
night while watching really bad medieval movies. UVic Clubs Day next week;
usually Wed/Thurs. Will be doing Ithra in November.
Port of Crickstow-on-Sea:
Deputy Seneschal speaking; Seneschal didn’t give a report. Will
be holding AGM soon. Nothing definite other than Pirates & Peasants
in October; autocratted by James & Uilliam.
Baron & Baroness:
Past month was fun; way too freakin’ many events. Went to SST, False
Isle, Feast & Famine; Fungus War, September Crown. Will be going to
Coronet, Crown Council. Seeing lots of growth & development; need
to focus on the newcomers. Ming got a Goutte de Sang, Glynis got a Jambe
de Lion, Lenora put on vigil for Pelican. Ming also received Chivalry
prize in Squires’ Tournament. Mistress Linnnet received the Mano
d’Oro. Will be inviting Crown Prince & Princess to Daffodil,
as they will be King and Queen then.
Old Business
Event Reports:
SST:
Cdn $236.05, US $28.00 profit; Wulfgar won all three combat championships;
took heavy one. Alex took boffer championship; Algytha Ravencross took
A&S championship; Alicia le Wilful (False Isle) won favour-making
contest; Quentin won James’ bardic contest.
Feast or Famine:
Good turnout (47 people) – Cdn $145.50; US $38.00 in revenues.
New Business
Upcoming Events:
Ithra:
November 28th-29th at UVic. Hoping to import teachers from off-island
to teach some classes. We were granted a bursary from Rivers Region Campus
(US $250.00).
Yule:
December 11th, despite conflict with Hartwood. Looking to book PAC centre
in Colwood, as Ukranian Centre is already booked up.
Other:
A&S may move to Wed as fight practice may move to Thurs (depends on
availability of drill shed)
Branch in the East Kingdom wants to know if they can conflict with the Order of the Rock(e). Herald to contact branch and find out more details.
Ekaterina brought Seagirt Library; did some culling of duplicates of handouts & stuff.
