From: Tom Pilcher [tpilcher@shaw.ca] Sent: July 13, 2004 4:46 PM To: rocks@antir.sca.org Subject: [rocks] From the Baron and Baroness - July 2004 Since last council meeting - The mighty forces of Seagirt travelled to the mainland. Aided by our stalwart Defender, Captain of the Grenadiers and well-paid mercenaries our troops were able to sweep the Lions Gate army from the battlefield. Alas, all was not so rosy as the war went to the Lions Gaters and their fearsome band of marauding shoppers armed with charge cards and little wicker baskets. The Seagirtian contingent became bogged down in the '9 items or less' aisle. The small number of A&S entries from Seagirt, nonetheless, held their own in the competitions. This month saw the ascension of our new Prince and Princess in Tir Righ. Well known to us is His 'sinister' Highness Kheron Azov and his inspiration, ex-Seagirtian, Her Highness Ksenia Einarsdottir. They are planning to travel to Seagirt for the Seagirt Summer Tournament in August. Recommendations for awards, especially Principality ones would be well received. Coming up this month is the July Coronation of Thorin and Dagmaer in Three Mountains and the Sergeants Trials here at home later this month. I would encourage any and all to attend Sergeants to support Owen as he makes this valiant attempt. Autocrats and volunteers are needed for many of our events later this year and next year as well. Please take the time to help out as you can. For those interested, the minutes from Seagirts council now appear on the website and contain the officer's reports that are submitted. This fountain of information will help to keep the populace more informed of what is happening out there. We look forward to the summer events and especially to the choosing of the new champions at SST. We also look forward to seeing somany of the new people attending their first events. Please take the time to make them welcome. James & Glynis Baron and Baroness of Seagirt --- Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
