Good people of Seagirt and the Islands,
For more than four years now as the Baron and Baroness of Seagirt we have shared
many great moments together. To this day, many of the people of Seagirt and
Insula Magna continue to make us very proud. We have seen the best that this
island has to offer. We have also seen some hard times together and shared many
a tear. We will cherish these moments forever.
It has been a long four years and now we heartily feel it is time to rest. We
have spoken to Our Seneschal. In consultation with Their Royal Majesties and
Their Highnesses Tir Righ over these past few days we now announce our plans to
step down from this position in the early summer.
We hope that we have served our people to their satisfaction and offer our
support and encouragement to those who will follow.
While we cannot say we won't miss being Baron and Baroness of Seagirt, we do
look forward to just being us.
Welcome to the next level - Seagirt!
Long Live Cedric and Elizabeth.

Letter of Intent Unto Their Majesties, Their Highnesses, Baronial Deputy Seneschal and the populous of Seagirt do we, His Lordship Ming Lum Pee and Her Ladyship Elína Kársdóttir send greetings. This letter declares our desire to be the next Baron and Baroness of Seagirt. We have been active members for many years (Ming - 20 years, Elina - 8 years) and have served the Society in various ways from the local levels all the way to Kingdom. I, Ming, have been involved in the society at Kingdom events by volunteering for various duties and as Deputy Site Autocrat to the SCA’s 30th Year Celebration. At a Principality level, I’ve served on 8 retinues as an attendant and Captain of the Guard. I am currently the Contingency Deputy Marshal of Tir Righ. Locally, I’ve served as Master of Stables for the Barony for many years, autocrated/co-autocrated several local events, been an instructor for Ithras and have acted as Marshall in Charge at over a dozen events in my time in the Society. I, Elína, have been involved in the society at a Kingdom and Principality level as a volunteer for various duties such as gate, lists, and waterbearer. I have served on 5 retinues for Their Highnesses of Tir Righ as a lady in waiting, court liaison, and royal scribe. Locally, I’m the current Seneschal of Seagirt, have autocrated/co-autocrated several local events, been a volunteer for Gate duty, lists and other various tasks. We feel our experience gives us a greater appreciation of all aspects of the SCA and feel that we are well suited for the task of both representing the Crown to the populous of Seagirt and to represent the people of Seagirt to Their Majesties or Their Highnesses. We believe in combining the visions of the past Barons and Baronesses with our own to make the Barony stronger. Another part of our vision is to encourage and champion the people of the Barony so that they can be stars beyond our borders to Their Majesties, Their Highnesses, the peerages and the people of An Tir. We would be honored if we were chosen for this task and intend on representing the Crown in the best way we can. If you have questions, concerns, or subjects of interest, please do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you for your consideration, Ming and Elína |

Greetings unto Their Most August Majesties, King Cedric Rolfsson and Queen Elizabeth Owles Greetings unto the Beloved Storm Throne of Tir Righ, Prince Owain ap Einar and Princess Adwen Wrenn Greetings unto the Fine Deputy Seneschal of the Barony of Seagirt, Lady Annika the Unrelenting His Lordship Hucbald ap Urp and Her Ladyship Morgaine Essex do bring salutations and continued service to the Crowns of An Tir. With the upcoming vacancy of Baron and Baroness in the Barony of Seagirt we wish to declare our intent for consideration of the role of Baron and Baroness. Our experience is varied having both been involved in the martial, arts, sciences and service aspects of An Tir. We bring with us a combined 42 years of experience not including our children who have both been raised in the SCA. We have lived in the Barony of Seagirt, the Barony of Lions Gate and the Shire of Ramsgaard and have traveled most of Tir Righ and large portions of An Tir. We involve ourselves with new comers and old timers alike. We have always encouraged growth, involvement and a variety of experience for all. While acting as mentors to those around us, we ensure fair play and clear communication between those seeking resolutions with our aid. We, having met in the SCA, have been together for 18 years and will celebrate 16 years of marriage this summer. We have two children aged 8 and 5 whom have both been raised in the SCA. Our children are of an age where they understand the goings on at events and we receive many compliments on their behavior and involvement. Patrick, the 8 year old, has even joined Viscount Ulf Bloodfoot’s Court having impressed His guard and Himself at Cragmere’s Armada with his poise on the archery range. With the combination of our varied and extensive experiences along with the well-ordered infrastructure, we are sure to see the Barony of Seagirt continue to flourish and grow. Our intention would be to ensure the involvement of as many of the populace as possible while guiding them in fulfilling the desires of An Tir and Tir Righ. In service to the past, present and future An Tir, Tir Righ and Barony of Seagirt we remain,

As leaders of a Barony, one has the responsibility of supporting and encouraging all of the people in the Barony and to foster each and every art or endeavour without prejudice. Through years of experience and service, we have shown a dedication to the SCA and this wondrous world we have created and have shared our knowledge and experiences that others may come to enjoy the SCA as much as we have. To be Baron and Baroness is to be “first among equals” to lead side by side with the people of Seagirt to continue the legacy of those who have served before. Should the people of this great land and Their Royal Majesties see fit to name us as the successors to Their Excellencies, we should be truly honoured and pledge our service onto our people, our Sovereigns and our land. |
